The Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus has been incredibly proud to represent LGBT peoples and Brighton & Hove to audiences around the country. Extending support to our members and the communities in which we live and celebrate our lives remains as central to our vision today as it did at our conception. Being part of World Aids Day will always feature as a cornerstone of our annual calendar, as we join together in recognition of those living with and affected by HIV and AIDS and remember those who are no longer with us to share in our performance.

The Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus, under the direction of Ignacio Jarquin, will be appearing at a special event on Sunday November 30th in recognition of World Aids Day. The concert has been organised by the Gay Elderly Men’s Society (GEMS) with sponsorship from Age Concern. This year the chorus will be singing a selection from Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, and will be joined by the Rainbow Chorus, the children’s Stagecoach Choir, the soprano Red Gray and the organist Philip Adams. The Brighton GMC is also very pleased to announce that this will be their first collaboration with Michael Finnessey, one of the most renowned composers currently working in the UK, who will be accompanying the choirs on piano. The concert also includes performances from Andrew Ballantyne, Neil Carter and Greg Moore at what is expected to be a momentous occasion.

Tickets are £3, which include a raffle ticket, and will be available at the Amsterdam Hotel in Marine Parade, the Sussex Beacon Shop in St. James Street and, on the night of the performance, at St Mary’s Church, corner of St James Street and Upper Rock Gardens.
